EMERGENTE at ZⓈONAMACO

Design is about solving problems. Sometimes with our hands. Sometimes with our minds. Always with creativity.
Some do it instinctively. Others through training. But at some point, we all design.
Some create products. Others shape spaces. Some communicate ideas. Some focus on the details. Others see the bigger picture. Some need complete freedom. Others thrive with structure.
Design is not a single path. It’s a constellation of possibilities.
And at some point, we all need a space to showcase what we do.
That’s why EMERGENTE exists.
Presented by ZⓈONAMACO DISEÑO, within Latin America’s most important art and design fair. Its fifth edition took place last February.
This platform empowers young designers, selecting projects that stand out for their conceptual depth and storytelling.
Because design is not just about making objects. It’s about telling stories. Asking questions. Imagining the future.
Personally, I’ve been many versions of a designer. Running my studio. Working as a consultant. Creating at NONO. Teaching at universities. And in every stage, I realized something:
Design events shouldn’t put people in boxes. It should uncover talent and amplify it.
That’s why, this year, alongside Cecilia León de la Barra and Jorge Diego Etienne, we curated a selection of pieces for EMERGENTE. From small tables and screens to chairs, lamps, and vases. Work by young designers from Mexico.
Every object tells a story. A vision. A way of understanding the world.
