Three types of objects

There are three types of objects: functional and rational aligned with the Bauhaus school, romantic and metaphorical like Starck's (in)practical juicer, and those we treasure because they inexplicably make us remember. Those that solve, those that opine, and those that represent. Those that have characteristics, those that have concepts, and those that we permeate with our memories.

When I philosophize with a very good friend, I remember that he always tells me: "objects are a reflection of society". However, I also believe that objects are a reflection of people. And making a very illogical association to Balzac's Treatise on the Elegant Life, we can understand three simple formulas for existing in this fun social constitution: the man who works, the man who thinks, and the man who rest.

After years of trying to find balance (and failing miserably in the attempt) in this search for identity and sense as a creative (and person) between this clear duality of form and function, metaphor and inspiration, and after so much introspection, I can now understand that I am my actions, my opinions, and also my emotions. My education, my values, and my sensations define me. I am each of my smells, memories, and objects that work because when I feel them, use them, or simply remember them, they make me a promise of happiness.
