TANGENCY
PRODUCT DESIGN
Projects Watches is a design company that has been collaborating with architects and designers, including Michael Graves, Stanley Tigerman, Kisho Kurokawa, Moshe Safdie, and Richard Gluckman, to create innovative ways of telling time. Founded by Jack Markuse in 1990, the company recently welcomed Joel Escalona to its global network of collaborators.
As the first piece designed by Joel for Projects Watches, the Tangency Watch is a stunning example of haute horlogerie, featuring a 40 mm stainless steel case with a brushed finish. The dial of the watch showcases a geometric game that showcases the movement of the seconds, which are the true stars of the show as they move on an independent dial separate from the hour and minute hands.
Joel's talent for turning everyday activities into unique experiences is on full display in the Tangency Watch, which transforms the simple act of checking the time into a delightful experience.
COMPASS
Joel Escalona is a designer who believes that time gives us a sense of orientation and direction. In order to explore this idea, he created the Compass watch for Projects Watches. The watch features a minimalist 37 mm diameter case and a black dial with a single blue hand, serving as a metaphor for life's journey.
Appealing to those who value design, quality, and value, the Compass watch is a reminder of where we want to go and what we prioritize in life. It is sure to be a hit with horlogerie fans around the world.
