CASTILLOS by PANORÁMICA in Wit Festival de Arte

This month Panorámica participated in Wit Festival de Arte at Hotel Demetria, an event that has become an important element in Guadalajara’s cultural and artistic life, gathering the most significant creative talent nationwide, with the expo “Castillos” with Ángulo Cero. This new collection reinterprets the character of the Mexican fiesta. Taking the ephemeral manufacture of “toritos” and “castillos” as the starting point, they use design as means of exploration to emphasize the broadest aspects of this practice.

After an in depth analysis and experimentation with the pyrotechnical tradition of Tultitlán, Cooperativa Panorámica creates a new collection that reinterprets the character of the Mexican fiesta. Taking the ephemeral manufacture of  “toritos” and  “castillos” as the starting point, they use design as a means of exploration to emphasize the broadest aspects of this practice.

The exercise resulted in a series of sculptural pieces inspired by the construction of these structures, exploring the negative space and incorporating the metal, instead of bamboo and hemp, the original materials.

Castillos was shown at an exclusive presentation by Mexican gallery Ángulo0 during ZonaMaco 2018, the leading contemporary art and design fair in Latin America, the most relevant platform for designers and artists of the scene at an international level.

You will be able to visit Castillos at Ángulo0 until March 28th, 2018.

Level: A new collection by Cooperativa Panorámica presented in Zona Maco

Driven by the obsession of finding a way to bring simplicity and functionality to its minimum, Cooperativa Panorámica presents “Level”, a collection of minimalistic furniture that balances contrasting materials on a single composition.

To create this collection, commissioned by emerging mexican gallery Ángulo Cero, the coop explored through countless experiments on combining concepts like volume, contrast and texture, and how they can work together as a functional design piece.

For Cooperativa Panorámica, the concept of “Level” not only signifies an even, seamless surface, but the point where two contrasting elements reach a balance, both on its physicality and its expression.

To find a point where two different elements level each other.

By exploring this new territory, the collection resulted in a series of 3 tables, two coffee tables and a side table which contrasting elements work together as a usable surface and structural support.

The contrast of these pieces resides on the used materials, tinted glass, marble or anodized aluminium, where each intersected plate relies on the other one for its support and balance.

“Level”, the new collection of Cooperativa Panorámica will make its debut during Zona Maco, the most important contemporary art fair in latin america.

Cooperativa Panorámica presents MONO in Maison&Objet Paris.

In this edition the Coop  presents MONO, a new collection of utilitarian objects for the contemporary world, whose material composition joined by a single color creates in each of its pieces a monochrome camouflage.
