Victory for Rocky!

And yet another award for the Rocky Collection, the first award was the ICONOS DEL DISEÑO (Design Icons) by Condé Nast's Architectural Digest Magazine as Best Furniture Design, and now, we just won the Sexta Bienal Nacional de Diseño 2011 (Sixth National Design Biennial 2011) the most important design award in Mexico, also in the Furniture Design category - 3rd place!!

Next to Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco, Rufino Tamayo and many more great muralist and artists, the Rocky Cantina is now in exhibition for short time at Mexico's most important museum, the Palacio Nacional de Bellas Artes.

LUSASUL's CEO Carmen Zambrano was at the awards also, she won last Biennial as Best Jewelry Design with the Bloody collection, by the way I was wearing the Rock tie clip, I just felt like Don Draper.

Joel Escalona Studio´s Brick & Rocky Collection won the price ICONOS DEL DISEÑO (Design Icons) to the best  furniture collection, sponsored by Condé Nast´s magazine Architectural  Digest.

La colección de mobiliario Brick & Rocky de Joel Escalona Studio, ganó el premio ICONOS DEL DISEÑO 2010 a la Mejor Colección de Mobiliario, organizado por la Revista de Codé Nast Architectural Digest México.

4-8 / September / 2009 - Joel Escalona in a special show call “Talents à la Carte” at the tradeshow Maison&Objet at Paris Nord Villepinte, France.
“MAISON&OBJET” is a leading international trade fair featuring sophisticated home decorative items and furniture takes place twice a year in Paris, France. All products exhibited at the fair have been specially selected and represent the most modern, highest quality and outstanding design from the world over. Each session, MAISON&OBJET welcomes more than 70,000 buyers, 3000 exhibitors and 3000 journalists worldwide.
Since 2003, SAFI, the organizer of MASION&OBJET orchestrates a special operation called “TALENTS À LA CARTE” which is a showcase for 6 to 7 emerging designers. Each season in September a country or continent is honored and the young, up-and-coming talent is exhibited at MAISON&OBJET. The next session’s dates are the 4th to the 8th Sept, 2009. This is an important opportunity to show the quality of Latin American design to the world.
“Talents” à la Carte is a concept included in the trade show “scènes d’intérieur”. Talents à la Carte is the name given to artists that the trade show MAISON&OBJET wants to make discover to the public.

"Maison & Objet" es una feria internacional con lo más sofisticado de diseño, la cual se realiza dos veces al año en París, Francia. Todos los productos exhibidos en la feria han sido especialmente seleccionados para representar a las más modernas y de mayor calidad personalidades del diseño de todo el mundo. Cada período de sesiones, Maison & Objet da la bienvenida a más de 70.000 asistentes, 3.000 expositores y 3.000 periodistas de todo el mundo.

Desde 2003, SAFI, el organizador de "Maison & Objet" orquesta una operación especial denominada "TALENTO A LA CARTA", que es un escaparate de 6 a 7 diseñadores emergentes. Cada temporada, un país o continente tiene el honor de ser representado por los jóvenes talentos de ese lugar para exhibir en Maison & Objet. Esta es una oportunidad importante para demostrar la calidad del diseño de América Latina para el mundo. En esta ocasión Joel Escalona fue seleccionado para representar México.
