The eighth edition of the AHEC Design Awards was held on January 2019. In this important event, more than 300 guests were gathered, including important designers, architects, university directors and students, who witnessed the quality, creativity and innovation in the design and manufacture of the finalist furniture.

For this edition, Joel was chosen as a member of the jury alongside other prominent personalities from the design field.

In addition to being part of the jury, Joel was awarded the AHEC 2019 Trajectory Award.

We are proud to share that Dalia Cabinet, for BD Barcelona, was selected in this year's edition of the Delta Awards.

The Delta Awards are held by the Industrial Design Association linked to FAD, Fostering Arts and Design, headquartered in Barcelona. It is a referent for industrial design in Europe thanks to its constant efforts in the promotion of creative culture through exhibitions, professional lectures, awards and events. With an aim to celebrate excellence in design, highlighting its importance as a privileged tool to generate wealth in an industrial economy.

9th National Design Biennial

We are celebrating! 

We won the 9th National Design Biennial, the most important event concerning design organized by the Federal Government through  Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (National Council for Culture  and Arts), Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (National Institute of Fine Arts) and Escuela de Diseño del INBA (School of Design). In this event, the designers are rewarded for contributing professionally and culturally to their country. 

This is an award for each member of the studio, each client, manufacturer and person involved in these projects. This is an award for all. It is an award for national design.

In Joel Escalona Studio we participate with four projects within the category Design for the  Development or Economic and Commercial Promotion:

Booleanos Honorific Mention

Booleanos for Roche Bobois won Honorable Mention at the 8th Biennial of Design.

The Octava Bienal Nacional de Diseño (8th Biennial of Design) is a recognition to the people whom by their professional work show ability to transform ideas into products and services in response to the demands of public or consumers, enriching through his trade the national identity since it meets specific needs of Mexico.

This is an official recognition to Design as professional and cultural contribution to social welfare, productive development and human capital, which has been the fundamental reason the Federal Government through the Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes, the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes and the Escuela de Diseño del INBA organize such award and exhibition.

YAZ by URREA, Thor & Xarien by Tane and Booleanos for Roche Bobois will be exhibited in the 2015 official selection at the Ex Convento de Regina.

Victory for Rocky!

And yet another award for the Rocky Collection, the first award was the ICONOS DEL DISEÑO (Design Icons) by Condé Nast's Architectural Digest Magazine as Best Furniture Design, and now, we just won the Sexta Bienal Nacional de Diseño 2011 (Sixth National Design Biennial 2011) the most important design award in Mexico, also in the Furniture Design category - 3rd place!!

Next to Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco, Rufino Tamayo and many more great muralist and artists, the Rocky Cantina is now in exhibition for short time at Mexico's most important museum, the Palacio Nacional de Bellas Artes.

LUSASUL's CEO Carmen Zambrano was at the awards also, she won last Biennial as Best Jewelry Design with the Bloody collection, by the way I was wearing the Rock tie clip, I just felt like Don Draper.
